Lingard: I learned something every day from Rooney

Jesse Lingard says he learned something every day from Wayne Rooney, while playing alongside the former England captain at Manchester United.

Rooney is in line to face United on Sunday as Everton head to Old Trafford for the first time since the striker left to rejoin his boyhood club.

Having establishing himself in the United team in 2015, Lingard won the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League alongside Rooney and says the 31-year-old has played a key role in his development.

You learn every day from him. His experience in games, especially when you re young, said Lingard.

If it s only 1-0 it s always hard to manage a game, and he knew what to do at times, especially towards the end of games.

Of course, it is hard to follow him, he s always going t…

Carvajal takes aim at Mourinho

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has taken aim at former coach Jose Mourinho.

Carvajal seemed ready to make the step into the senior side at Madrid in 2012 after impressing at their reserves the previous two seasons, but Mourinho decided different and sanctioned the right-back s exit to Bayer Leverkusen instead.

The Spain international who misses Euro 2016 due to injury returned to the Bernabeu after just one season as Madrid exercised their buy-back option, but Carvajal has not forgotten about the lack of faith shown in him by Mourinho.

I felt that I was perfectly ready to play for the first team, but hey, the coach, Mourinho in this case, did not count on me, Carvajal told Marca.

Mourinho was a bit opportunistic. When I returned, he said that I need…

Silva backs Sigurdsson to shine against Liverpool

Marco Silva backed Gylfi Sigurdsson to prove his quality when Everton face Premier League leaders Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

Sigurdsson scored twice for Everton on Tuesday, as Silva s side beat struggling Cardiff City 3-0 to claim victory following three consecutive defeats.

Merseyside rivals Liverpool are next up on Sunday, and manager Silva believes Sigurdsson – Everton s top scorer – will now find his best form after a run of poor performance.

All of you are seeing a different Sigurdsson this season, Silva told a press conference.

You will see, in the next match against Liverpool, Gylfi playing with more confidence.

Everton lost nine of 14 league matches prior to the trip to south Wales, with that run having started with a last-…

Pogba labels Lukaku row reports ´funny´

Paul Pogba joined Romelu Lukaku in dismissing reports of a row between the two after Manchester United s win over Southampton, calling the claims funny .

Lukaku had struck twice to help give United a 3-2 lead at Old Trafford on Saturday when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer s side were awarded a late penalty.

Pogba stepped up to take the spot-kick, rather than allowing Lukaku the chance to seal a hat-trick, and the France midfielder saw his effort saved by Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

A report in British newspaper The Sun, which quoted an unnamed United source, claimed Pogba and Lukaku had a row over the penalty following the match and needed to be calmed down by Solskjaer.

When the hate don t work they start telling lies, came an apparent response from Luk…

XDefiant is Now Live, Developer Investigating Matchmaking Issues

Ubisoft’s free-to-play first-person shooter XDefiant is now available, but you probably wouldn’t have believed it based on the launch experience. Players report being unable to join matches as the lobby screen endlessly searches for others before giving up. Some have reported getting into one game or so, but issues remain.

The development team is aware of these issues and asked players to “Please bear with us while we look into servers and matchmaking!” In a follow-up tweet, it added, “We are seeing improvements with the issues that people are experiencing with matchmaking and are continuing to work on it. We will provide updates as soon as possible!”

Having played three matches in three hours and seeing few improvement…

Krasic reluctant on Russia return

Juventus attacker Milos Krasic is not eager to return to Russia, according to the Serbia international s representatives.

Krasic, 27, has announced his desire to leave Juve at the end of the season after becoming a peripheral figure under coach Antonio Conte.

Zenit St. Petersburg tabled a loan offer for Krasic during the January transfer window, but Krasic, seeking only a permanent move, rejected the chance to leave Turin.

It is believed 2008 UEFA Cup winners Zenit are planning another move for Krasic in the off season, but the former CSKA Moscow star may have other plans, according to his agent.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Features a Canon Mode with Pre-Determined Choices

Assassin’s Creed Shadows creative director Jonathan Dumont revealed in a recent Reddit AMA that the main journey would be comparable to Origins/Odyssey and Valhalla, which isn’t the most specific measurement. However, he also revealed that choices would play “less of a branching role” in the core narrative than in Odyssey.

In a follow-up comment, Dumont noted that choices occur when “recruiting allies” or deepening bonds with some characters. Given branching dialogue tends to “divide” the fan base, there will be an optional Canon Mode. It “allows you to play the game with choices already made for you, to give you a choice-free experience.”

It should leave out any ambigu…

´We will be active´ – Arteta keen for Arsenal transfer additions

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hailed the performance from his squad in the first half of the season and opened the door for new recruits in the January window.

The Gunners head into Saturday s clash with Wolves, the final game before the World Cup, top of the Premier League and a tally of 34 points at this stage of the season has only once not resulted in title triumph at the end of the campaign (Newcastle United 1996-97).

Arteta s side have already exceeded early expectations this season, with a top-four challenge being the objective, but a lack of depth within the squad could be problematic as the season progresses.

Arsenal have been linked with major moves when the market reopens, with reports suggesting a bid in excess of £50million has been made for Shak…
